You dont have to come along every time. If you cant make it you cant make it, no pressure. Soemtimes we wont be able to make it either. But its about knowing that a group is going and that if you want to come you will be welcome. Its to encourage new riders to get out there and have a go at some of these roads and learn a thing or too.
If ure a cock on the road you wouldnt come anyways cos the pace will be to slow.

Well babe you can count me in (When I'm up for bigger rides.....)
actually we are very social bunch, but we tend to go for weekend rides cos most of us work different hours and cant usually get out at 'normal' evening times as SDU said. Not to mention that quite a few of us race over winter at Ruapuna, better than riding on icy roads anyway. Besides haven't you noticed winter happening the last few months i.e. its dark early... we just go out for drinks instead and we have had a few over winter. But now spring has sprung and I managed to clock up 1300kms last weekend, so I guess an evening ride is a possiblity, altho still waiting for a when and where

it aint a terrible attitude to have when you have almost been wiped out by an inexperienced rider being a cock. I dont have a problem with new riders, but I will give them plenty of room and I expect the same back. We usually have a few newbies along on a ride and they pretty much mingle fine, and usually appreciate being able to follow the more learned fellows around them... and I dont really count me in that bunch, I'm still learning all the time

Have discovered that there are a lot of bikie Clicks around christchurch, if you havent been a member of one of these, they are not overly welcoming when you show up.
CHCH group is like the exclusive brethren sometimes.. beware!

I've found they are like there here as well. And out of some of the groups that I have had a chance to tag along with, their pace is what I'd consider borderline asking for an immediate death.

But thats why I'm in CK now. Nice pace, nice rides. Take turns making up rides, person who made up ride leads the way.. nobody gets left behind, even if the leader has to slow down a bit (or speed up)

CK rides are open to public, usually Saturdays. And I am free during the weekdays at different times depending on the week (either morning between 9 and noon, or 4pm and 7pm)

give me an example as I have know idea what you are on about, and Im up with most of what goes on in town.

We ride most weekends, open ya eyes and read the threads... or you could try the local bikers forum (chch based) were there is no shortage of rides.
    cheers DD

Yeah, I txt him last night.

I think we've decided on Wednesdays as its a good split to the week. Probably meet 6ish for a 6.30 departure. Does anyone know of a good meeting place?

If we get that organised we can have the first ride on Wednesday the 3rd of Oct

BK sounds good to me. I can get a feed before I go, and I can actually find BK in town unlike everywhere else that isnt motorcycle related

EDIT: And I can definitely do the 3rd.

*Finally touches down in Christchurch again... escape!*

Sorry Phoenix, meant to be the first to reply to your thread, but you know what they say about the best laid plans! Ah well, better late than never eh? I know what you mean about there being very little interest - definitely slim pickings - but as I said, I expected nothing less out of the Christchurch crew - good for nothing layabouts!!

Anyway, I'll definitely be a starter for the first ride, on Wednesday 3rd October, around 6 to 6.30pm, maybe at BK Moorhouse? Most people know where that is. Anyway, probably start meeting at 6, head off at 6.30, don't be late or we'll leave you behind! Not likely, since, as Phoenix has said, the idea is for it to be a cruisy ride. No doubt sometimes we'll feel like being a bit more brisk, but we'll guage how we feel on each night, and cater for everyone who turns up no matter what.

Bring on daylight savings! Looking forward to it
