Again, all that personal stats but nothing in there that is actually helpful. So what if you have been riding for 25 years blah blah blah if you cant offer USEFUL advice. Once in a while you do but most of the time its crap.

You dont know me so dont go making assumptions that you know nothing about.

This is the key point here. Everyone has their own responsibility. You can't blame the entire group for the actions of one or a few. Of course if someone is doing stupid shit on these rides then they should get a talking to. And tell me D, whats the difference between someone crashing on a Wednesday night ride and someone crashing on some other group ride or by themselves?? At least they've got plenty of support on a Wednesday. You seem to have some vendetta against these rides.

In terms of the accos on Wednesday both seem to have just been silly mistakes. Noone was doing stupid shit and as far as I know everyone was well behaved.

As for organisation of the ride, it's a work in progress. We have a clear briefing at the start now, but you can have all the organisation in the world but if noone listens to you its useless!!

So do we get a nice new clean thread for 2008, maybe call it something more like 'Chch Wednesday Evening Cruises'

I'm pleased that someone else is taking the role of being a grumpy old prick, means I don't have to do it ~ and it's a shit of a job really. Good on ya Dangerous - and thank you.

I'm happy ~ the sun is shining (finally, seems like it's been raining forever) and I passed my full licence this morning with 100%. Yee Haaaaa!

Heaps of obstacles on the road made it an interesting ride! After a bit of playing around with the speaker/earpiece and changing it over from left to right, I forgot to do up my helmet, and had to pull over and confess {grin}. Luckily the driving inspector was one of those forgiving angels, and he just ribbed me about it rather than failing me.

Now I'm ready to start learning how to carry a pillion passenger, and to start test riding the bikes I've been looking at ...

Hope to be able to join in next Wed, and make up the numbers in the slower group of cruisy riders ~ K

Looking looking looking ~ I started off looking at Suzuki Boulevard S50, but am keeping open minded now ... sat on Triumph Bonneville and it felt great, light and comfortable, as did Harley Sportster 883. I want to look at a Honda Shadow too before I decide. The smaller bikes seem to come in and go out pretty quickly at this time of the year. Not a worry as I'm not in any hurry, although I am looking forward to have a little more grunt.

I'm sort of hoping that it will be one of those love at first sight experiences ... but it doesn't hurt to ride on a few so I can compare and act knowledgable

It's not all about speed or size, it's all about comfort, dependability and durability - I don't want one that is going to break down ever (might be asking a lot here!) even tho' I love and trust my mechanic.

Thank you, comments like yours and seeing my work as it might be in riders comming through... are the only things that keep me doing my best to help, cos people like FL are only going to learn the hard way, or never at all.

Shit you and ya missus take things the wrong way... who the hell is blaming the "entire" group for anything?
No difference no mater what day it is.. whats that question about?
Vendetta is a strong word man... no such thing here, but after riding with the group you shoud be looking at renaming it yeah?
