    Pipes-FXR-FXD

    Greetings Gents and ladies,

I'm looking to ditch my pipes in order to fit standard controls to my bike, Seems to be a couple of sets of pipes on trademe that look like they may go cheap but they are FXR pipes, My bike being an FXD I would like to know if they can be made to fit.

If it means saving a few hundred dollars I would be quite happy to move a mounting bracket or 2 (on the pipes). Or would it be too difficult or just a crap idea?

Current pipes on the bike as per attachment.

    Me too!

I'd love a 2 into 1 for my FXDXS just like the top pic.

The top pic is my FXD, those pipes will be getting sold as soon as I get around to removing them.

as well as that jingle-jangle air cleaner.

What don't you like with the pipes ?
i have a V&H Pro pipe on my bike and it sounds great and gives excellent power though i had to modify the muffler to stop it scraping on the corners

In his first post he said he wants to fit normal controls (i.e. not those silly forward control things), and the custom pipes interfere with that.

True, But after being mocked by me old mate for a good half hour about the controls not fitting he proved himself correct and bolted a set right on. Then charged me obscene amounts of money

Seems I funked it up, They fit with no issue, I didn't read the instructions properly, Its only 2004 and newer softtails that they don't fit on. Though again, that might be wrong too, I only glanced at the bit of paper the second time as well.

So alls good, I keep my pipes, and I have me feet where they are meant to be, No more starfish legs for me.

Oh yeah, 1 awesome set of forward controls going up on Trademe in 10 minutes, and that kuryakyn hyper-charger.
