Hummer 2006 200cc 'motocross' bike

Hey howsit

My sister is looking for a bike, I saw this one on trademe called a hummer:

I'm just after a bit of advice. does anyone know anything about these bikes?

how quickly/easily do they fall apart? (shes gonna be riding slow, no jumps - just wants to look the part)

are there spares when the bits start dropping off?

Basically whats the catch - how can these bikes be so cheap?

They are not a full sized bike
and they are made in the zillions in china.
Can't quote on preformance or reliablity
but i belive the "Hummer and Lifan" brands are the better ones to come from china town
Also belive they are a direct coppie of a Honda XR200 motor?
Thats why they are cheaper, no reserach into anything just copie.

I dont know about that particular bike, but some of those chinese bikes are actually pretty good quality. my mates had one for about 2 years and thrashed the fuck out of it daily and its had no problems.

For a puttputt bike I think that you can't really go wrong. If she wants to start riding properly its not a good idea. Ask themif they stock spare parts like pistons etc.

nice - cheers guys, maybe if they copied an xr200 well enough they'll get the reliability too. tho no doubt the metal's nowhere near the same quality, that might answer the spares question as well...

I'll check up on the spares.... if thats all good i reckon its a winner. If she gets it, I'll borrow it while she's not home and take it over a nice big dropoff and let you know if it passes the tonka test

Cheese is 100% correct on this. and I agree with him.
If I was serious about riding, I would spend a bit more and buy a PROPER bike, eg KDX the list goes on and on...

My brother in law used to import the cheap ass pit bikes and i can say they are a direct copy off the honda ct125 engine and to be honest the engines are actually really good can take a real beating havent heard off one blowing yet and im looking as we got spare engines here and i wanna frame to chuck em in................BUT other than that the rest off the bike falls to bits but if you kow what to "beef up" they seem to go good
