    She's a beauty!! I don't know if it is `cool' to name your bike-but she is ~The Black Pearl~.
I have done lots of slow riding,1st and 2nd, slow turns (no foot down), getting used to the weight of the bike and what I can and can't get away with!!
Have mastered the gravel turnaround and long gravel driveway then out on to road and back quite nicely-changes up and down fairly smooth!
Tomorrow is my debut straight out in to 100km traffic-OMG!
Maybe Sunday if the weather holds I will catch up with Noobie DJ and have a baby ride somewhere.
Thanks to Vifferman-the NoobieGripOfDeath makes ya hands cold and stiff!! Gave me something to think about when my fingers went numb-Take a Chill Pill and all that.
My plan is to be ready for any `chick' rides that maybe coming up (Mrs Kendog?) was talking about something before the Christmas Madness.
Keen to meet the Ashhurst crowds once I am not going to look toooo dicky but will probably do something dumb anyways!

It's not just noobs that hold the bars too tight - a lot of sprotsbike owners (me included) lean on them too much. The bars are only there for control purposes, and if you're leaning on them, or holding them tight, then any body movements - such as the wind blowing on you, sneezing (that's a crisis in a fullface helmet!), the effects of bumps - gets transferred to the steering. It also buggers up the nerves in your hands - hence the numbness. Bikers should be supporting themselves with legs and proper posture.

Anyway - enough prattling. I hope you enjoy your ride! Just remember to relax, always look where you want to go (i.e., look through each corner) and above all, have fun!

    By the way:
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
