    Lifan Huntaway/Cobra

Anyone know anything about these? I'm thinking of buying a trail bike to ride to work (10 minute ride) and play around on, was going to go for an older Honda XR but these ones seem like pretty good value for money.

    Personally, I wouldn't go near a Lifan.

Why is that? Availability of parts? Quality? Service? Reputation? That was my first instinct too but as it would just be for playing round on I wondered if I was being a snob. I certainly haven't seen any round which is not a good sign.

    chinese crap,

poor gear box life, poor metal quality, not a very good copy of a XR

Lifan is backed up not to bad when compared to other chinese brands,
but they are still a lemon

Well, that answers the question - second hand XR it is.

Have a look through the comments made about them previously.
