    Re: 2008 Ninja 250

    Gidday All,
The new GPX's (EX 250-J8F) are not due in the country until March or April 08 & the reatil price has not yet been set...

You're all getting a wee bit confused here...

The $6400.00 retail deal is for the old style "GPX" (EX 250-F6F~F7F) & is a "while stock lasts" situation...

Sorry to burst your collective bubbles folks - but facts is facts

    Cheers

To finish first - first you must finish... Oh b.t.w, which way doe's Turn 1 go & whats the lap record...

    Sux for you guys.......

My dealer told me they have shipping orders in now and are expecting to have them on the floor mid December....... Of course, my other dealer tells me mid November. We will see.

One thing is certain. Out the door price in the U.S. is $3,600-$3,800 so you Kiwi's break out your calculators and do the math on that.

    The way I figure it.....

Step One: Convert $3,700 USD into NZD which makes it $4,875 (at least at the time I calculated anyway).

Step Two: Take that $4,875 and add a little bit considering the cost of importing to NZ. Im gonna go with $5,500

Step Three: Take that $5,500 and add to it the obligatory rip off price hike b/c its NZ. I have $7,000 or so.

So there's yiour answer: $7,000 OTD give or take a few bucks.

I know I know. Its more an art then a science buts thats my best guestimate.

Just to add my 2c here...

I got a GT250R today, and as most people probably know Kawasaki is the NZ Hyosung importer, hence why anyone selling Hyosung sells Kawasaki.

Anyway, I enquired about the Ninja 250 and was told they will be selling for roughly $8,500 but wasn't given an eta.

Don't forget the little Aprilia Rs125, cagiva Mito 125 and Honda VRT250 are a whisker under AUD$10,000 - around AUD$9.990!!

BTW, picked up a repo'd 2007 GPX with only 2000 km on the clock for AUD$4,500 today. Been dropped, but no major damage, just scraped plastic on the left side.

Besides the headlight and ugly muffler, that ninja looks like a hyo rip-off with a bit of zx6r breed into it. The promo vid looks like it's aimed at Indonesian 125cc riders looking for some attention. Be interesting to see them side by side. I'm sure power wise it will beat the hyo but I'm not convinced it'll be a better value bike coming in at a possible 1k more than the hyo just because it has Kawasaki written on the tank. my 2c.

They didn't stop making 250cc fours 15 years ago, it's just that they rarely seem to turn up in NZ. Try this bad boy on for size.

Although I'm not sure, it may be a slightly older 250 with AM bodywork. And of course, either way you'll never see one here, but tasty 4cyl. 250s do exist.

Sorry mate, but that just looks like the TYGA body work on there, they do look good with it though, it really brings the styling up to date:
