Think I probably will do the K&N thing in due course and that should be enough for me. Or will it?? Anything happening tomorrow?? I havn't had a look yet.

Oh, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They looks and sound loud. Be interesting to see what you think? It just takes a bit of getting used to after the original exhaust which is so quiet. Those cage drivers will have no excuse for not knowing I'm there, even if there eyes are shut!! At the end of the day, it's still look after number one and keep out of there way.

When throttling down the exhaust "pops" alot but when she goes in for the 1000 k check next week, I'll get it re-mapped and I am sure that will sort it out as it will be running too lean at the moment. G'day DaJa47,
Your bike looks great with the new pipes on them and I know what you mean when u say "...sounds like a big cruiser should..." I thought the same thing when put Cobra pipes on my Meanie. I am not familiar with Suzuki bikes but I am assuming when you say 'pre-muffler collection box' you are talking about something like a chamber where the exhaust gases collect and do any final burn before exiting the back of exhaust? A Japanese emission control device. In the Mean Streaks we had something like that. This extra chamber (goatsbladder) also helped muffle the sound (popping) which is air/fuel causing small backfiring. Now with your new pipes you are minus this and can hear the popping louder. Another cause of the popping may be air getting in around the exhaust gaskets or them not sealing properly. It only takes a little leak to do it. Usually good advice to replace these gaskets on fitting of new pipes. Re-mapping may help with the popping and Vulcan owners do a thing called 'the marble trick' which prevents air getting into the pipes too.

Are you taking any prescription medication? [Rain Man]

Heyjoe. Tomorrows the big day. Pick it up following re-map and 1st service following 1000k run in. I don't think I had a problem with air round the exhaust gaskets as the bike had only done about 900k since new and all looked good. I will put something on KB to let you know. Even before the re-map it has more get up and go, especially mid range. Hope to go for a bit of a run with the North Shore Cruiser guys and put it to the test after picking it up!

    Good luck with that.

I noticed the throttle was a lot more sensitive/ touchy after I put the Cobra pipes on and it felt like I was getting a just a bit more torque but it was hard to tell for sure due to the beautiful sound I was now hearing and feeling.
I'm planning on getting a PCIII fitted when I have saved some more dollars to help smooth it out a bit and get it re-mapped/ dynatuned so everything is performing at its best.
