Hey Bob,I don't think much has changed.
When I started riding there was really only British an Jap,Neither group liked each other much.I rode both so didn't fit well with either.
Then Along came Ducati,Lot's of people liked them, but they cost to much an the lights went out in strange places.their big plus was most of the cartoon wearers didn't like them,so they were kind of respectable with out being Jap.
Then there was BMW,mostly owned by OLD folks that wouldn't talk to commoners anyway .Then along came HD,mostly owned by the cartoon crowd and still living with the stigma today .The big plus with HD was it became safe to own a Brit bike without having to chain it up,down,an sideways to keep the cartoon crowd from stealing it,they were to busy nicking HDs from people that made the mistake of liking HD but not being cartoon wearers.
Then sometime in the eightys,I don't have the exact date,Somebody decided to make things even worse by inventing stupid terms like Sportbike, cruiser, retro, tourer, cafe, the last one being a real rip off.
So now we have the situation were people don't wave, hell it's always been like this.HD an BMW riders don't even wave to each other, just uncool old chap .Sportbike riders don't wave to cruisers, incase it's an HD,most of em' can't tell the difference anyway but better play it safe aye.
Younger 250 riders wave at everybody because they think they've joined a big happy family an havn't learn't the truth yet. :disapint:
Retro riders don't wave cause they've just realised their bike that they paid so much for not only looks old,it's also bloody slow and the other slow bikes(Brits)won't talk to them because their Jap.
Of course Brit riders don't wave because their busy listening to their engines and counting the miles before the next rebuild.
And sooner or later the powers that be will realise a lot of so called bikers will turn on their own like a bunch of rabid dogs an use this against us
It already works on car drivers,It's the Boy racers,it's the 4x4s,it's the boat owners,it's the horse float owners,it's the truck drivers.
Next it's going to be us.

I do a big wave to Harley riders. Cause they already think your 'fuct' cause you have less CC's and more speed.....Shopping trolly, anyone?
And a nod to Sports bike riders...
The world will look up and shout "Save Us!", and I'll whisper "no"
