    Buell XB12R

Just got a new demo to put a few k's on. Never ridden one before, so was quite keen.
It's like a toy after the Bandit, the front wheel's under your nose and legs are folded like pretzels. In other words, your common or garden sports bike.
Hopped on and started it, bloody hell, I thought I was being sexually violated. It vibrates up and down, my teeth were chattering, eyes were blurred. It smooths out nicely with a few revs up though, very sophisticated for a Harley lump. Nice brakes and instant turn in at urban speeds.
So it was a cautious tootle over my normal route home, until I got to Colemans corner and discovered it's best feature, The " I forgot the slippery new tyres, slide correction mode" It straightened up even before I could bite a doughnut out of the seat, marvellous. So an even more cautious ride home with the occasional touch of the whip to feel that torque. Now in an hour or so, I should be able to straighten my legs and bend my neck.

They're marvelous aren't they? White Trash was kind enough to jack up an XB9S ride for me last year, and you've leapt instantly to all the same conclusions I had.

    Have fun Lou.

Not with the 24 month unlimited Ks warranty they come with now.

Ditch some preconceptions and try one.

Not my bloody truck mate,if it fails to proceed he can get someone else to tow it home. Did I tell you about the time I was blating down highway 22,doing my best Mike Halewood impersonation when one of them flaming Buel things ran circles around me an then buggered off into the distance.

You guys should see our Buell promo DVD. Like the aerial shot of a length of serious twisties, then a shot of the bike blasting through them, U turn at the end and do it all again. Or the two up stoppie with the guy on the bars dragging his helmet peak on the road, then there was the version where it all went wrong. Luckily Buells are light.

    Brilliant! My sentiments exactly.

XB9R with a race kit and some Racetecs and there's my perfect weekend scratcher.

Lou I actually found the riding position very roomy and comfortable. The bars are a bit higher than my gixxer and the pegs to seat length good.

If it weren't for the 14.5L fuel capacity, they'd make an excellent sports tourer.

Then it has to be my semi-crippled middle aged body at fault. I really want to try the City-cross now though, or a 12S

I get 140 miles/240km out of about 17 litres, now that it's been serviced and a few air leaks have been plugged it's running a little rich so when thats fixed it should be a little better.

stared at it for a while at the open day . Pitty i won't have the cash for a few years. I could easily do with the xb9 or xb12. The black xb12 is sooooooooooooooo sexy.

The XB9R I rode a couple of years ago was great - although the harley vibrator took a bit of getting used to! The 12 would be even better, I reckon!
