Try Barry Stevens-pres of the Canterbury VCC-real vintage bike nut-ph 3599-128. He should be able to put you onto somebody local.

What bits? Know a guy who has a Bushman in his woodshed, think most bits are interchangable. That's ifn' the altzheimers don't git me before I see him next...

Holy crap they're everywhere!!! I think it's only right that I take some pics, and make a parts list.

This is original nick, bit of surface rust on the tank and rims, muffler is a little dented, etc. It's best to keep it like this rather than restore it, yes?

I'd say keep it original.... Within reason but really - fill you boots - it's the fun of old bikes

Heh, not my bike, belongs to the father of a friend of mine.. his father hasn't ridden in many a long year, so he is essentially inheriting it early. Needs a kick start spline and clutch for sure, I'll probably make some new cables and reline the brake shoes etc.

Don't bother with the brake shoes - they were crap then and scary now even if you relined them with superglue....

I've got a heap of different linings I could try... including the super duper green lining that the classic racer guys go ga ga over

But well noted, if they've some meat, I'll leave them be
