    Horror stories - Bikes

Ok guys, lets here a few Horror Stories and CLOSE CALLS to remind ushow dangerous riding can be......... List your close call stories here. Yeap it counts if your "close call" was coming off and almost getting bowled by a cage. My closest call so far......... Heading to work at 5am and someone drifted across into my lane.............. Had no warning!!! A quick dodge and i missed him by about a metre, scary shit for a learner lol

weve all had those... at least the guy without the head wouldnt have felt much. id rather go quick and end in pieces than have a "minor" and die in pain.

when i go, just say rest in pieces please.

my mate and i were out riding home from work one night rain stormy etc a car came out of no where i managed to swerve out of the way onto the far right (the car was in our lane) my mate wasnt so lucky he swerved left hit a parked car and died at the scene......

    think that is close enough...

Friday just gone, back road to Arapuni along Waikato river. Car came across centerline on straight bit of road, right towards me. I didn't really register what was happening, bit of bewilderment as she came towards me I guess, and thoughts of kids playing chicken with the nice little bike rider.

As I was braking hard and thinking about which way they were going to go I decided to go left, she finally looked up from her texting or stereo adjustment as I scooted past her inches from the gravel on the left and her car on the right.

After she had passed I still had a bit of speed to scrub off and at the same time readjust my line so I didn't gravel bin it. Felt like a tightrope walker leaning to the side as my bike rode about an inch from the roadside and gravel.

Just one of those "happened so fast moments"

Gosh theres been far to many over the years, usually folks cutting corners or the worst offenders have been the U-turners...collected a ute that u-turned in front of me,didnt even have time to even think about braking.Considering the speed & the lack of decent gear I had then, I got of with with grazes & an XR with its front wheel next to the rear...

My horror story... being woken up this morning by Fireball saying
'I just dropped your bike, cant pick it up, help...'

(... doesnt really compare to others horror stories, but it was horrifying to me seeing my bike on its side soon as I woke up!!...)

Oooohhh , Fireballs in the shit now, definitly not what you want to wake up to aye Lilsel.
Had a close call on last friday doing the Coro loop with some others, we come around a blind corner down hill, FUCK, cars stopped in the middle of the road, watch PirateJafa almost collect GIJoes rear end, I almost ran into PirateJafa, Out-law ran past me in a locked rear brake slide and so on through all the riders, cops at the scene of an accident, but none around the corner to warn anyone. They were lucky we were following traffic and not at our usual speed or else there would have been another accident.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

You might have learnt something here....maybe.

And oh, btw, 'accidents' are rare, 'crashes' are common.
