Wet Wellington weather riding

From there on "pleasant" is not a word I'd use to describe the journey, but to impress Jim2 I have to say we are hardened bikers and we came through the last 60kms bone dry even if the gusts over the hill were a wee bit disconcerting.

I went for a ride over the hill and back around 1730 and it was pretty interesting then, I live up towards "the hill" and the wind and rain got worse as the night wore on, at one stage it was raining so hard our downpipes to the water tanks couldn't handle it and were just spilling straight onto the ground

I always walk to work, it would have been fine this morning but Im glad I didnt have to ride home a few minutes ago, was bloodly windy, felt like I was running just trying to walk...least it was a tail wind

Hmm, I'm a wee bit late for this thread, but I commute Hutt to City every day regardless. Never had weather bad enough to stop me. Sure you gotta be pretty cautious sometimes but if you let bad weather stop you riding in Welly then you're going to spend a lot of time in a cage.
