Used bike values?

As a new resident just moved from the US, I'm ready to go adventure bike shopping...

But I have no idea what used bikes should sell for here in NZ. Back in the US, I'd go to one of several web sites where you can find out what particular bikes have sold for your area.

How do you find out what's a reasonable price, and who's just looking to make a killing?

and there's also Motorcycle Trader, but it's a pretty awful website. They've always run it on "baby's first pc" rather than a proper webserver, as a result it's always been appallingly slow. It has hidden menu items and a whole heap of other bad design/usability elements.

And now it has pop-up video ads, which crashes/locks my firefox browser because I run anti-piss-me-off add-ins.

So I really don't know why I'm suggesting you go there?!

Otherwise, I use Trade me but you need to assume everyone is out to rip you off......It's the same worldwide, caveat emptor!
