Should be OK as long as you don't use red ones... What about one of those 'headlight modulators', that pulse the headlight beam? Might help - but then again, if the fcukers are gonna get you - they're gonna get you...
I almost got taken out by a twat in a van once - had headlight on, bright yellow rain suit on, big red pack on pack rack (on a GSX11), and he saw me (well, he didn't see ME) as a gap in the cars, and turned across in front of me. Fcukin nearly got me. Wife was one car back, on her bike, and reckoned she lost sight of me as I laid the GSX on it's side... managed to miss van, ride around the back of it, missing oncoming traffic, and get back on my side...![]()
Hope the insurance do a good job on the fix! Looked like your bike was a primo unit...

That took me back. Sorry about your pride and joy but good to hear that you are Ok.
November 1978, Tuam St. I was taken out by a car that pulled over ahead of me to a park on our left side...then as I pass him (my bad, at a bit of speed) he does a u-turn, no indication and by his own admission he never checked his mirrors. Unlike you I didn't walk away. I jumped over his roof only to break my leg on hitting the road. Spent the entire hot Chch summer with my leg in a full cast from tippy toes to testicles. My CB750 totalled his car though.
Lesson for today - avoid Tuam Street
Happiness is a means of travel, not a destination
Not all are like that. I got taken out in a similar way 5 months ago. The insurance company paid me $300 more than I paid for the bike 5 months & 6,000km's later & to top it off they didn't bat an eyelid @ replacing all my gear that was ruined at top value & if that wasn't enough when they asked how my riding jacket was to which I replied it's fine, un marked, they asked if I was sure!! What more could they have done? Nothing. How much easier could they have been to deal with? Zip, they were 100% perfect.

To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
That sure is a beautiful paint job mate, kind of glad they will repair it really. Nothing to stop you selling it once it is done though. If you think the 'hoodoo' is on this prticular bike then fix and flick is a good strategy.
All the best with it anyway.
