Off-road riding gear

Folks I can offer advice about the best leather suit for road riding but when it comes tooff road Im a newbee.
I've lucked in ( I think) with a set of MX pants and my Tpro chest/back protector. I'm wearing my Sidi race boots which have a fair bit of armour.
Lid wise Im wearing a New HJC trail helmet and im wearing a lightweigh pair of leather race gloves.
Am I on the right track or headed for disaster?
Is there other gear I should wear?
All or any advice gratefully recieved

you sound like your on the right track for basic gear,
how much ankle rigidity do your boots offer?

there's more gear that id suggest getting, a kidney belt is a good idea, some sort of knee protection, either knee pads/guards, or a full knee brace (broken knees suck!) see how you go with the gloves, but you may find you want to upgrade to something thicker once your hands have worn a few rocks and branches. have you got goggles? if not total motocross sells Smith goggles with rolloffs for $100 which i think is a good price.

it all comes down to your budget and how far you want to go with it (like most things)

You need knee protectors. PM me, I've got some MX gear I don't use anymore.

Frosty you might want to keep an eye out on Tme or somewhere. I use Azonic armour. Has all the protection, albows, Back, roost, shoulders and a kidney belt incorporated. By the time you buy a roost vest, albow pads and belt you are there anyway. Got mine on t/me for less than $150-00. Trick is to look in the bicycle section as well as MX.

why you hopin your a size 14 should be the same unless your lookin at some other way of doin it you also need to know if it is US measurements or not.

Helmet (you already have)
Boots that offer good ankle support( already mentioned)
Goggles ( absolute must have )
Armour only really protects from roost a must if you ride on dirt or get behind a four stroke.
Elbow, knee guards I never wear them but it makes good sense.

Boot sizing varies between manufacturer, Gaerne always run a bit large, Sidi are bang on, Fox always seem a bit on the small side.

I have a old set of smith Goggles foams a bit worn, but i have a new lense for it, yours if you want them.
Better then nothing.

Get some full length motox boots - you need your shins protected. Get some knee guards or braces as others have suggested. Body armor is also good. Instead of just a roost protector, go for a body suit style.

Couldn't agree more. Mine has some healthy scars on it which would have made some awful grooves in my body had I not been wearing it (what happens when you get out of sequence on a set of high speed whoops at Woodhill.....).
You can borrow mine if ya want Frosty, I have no dirt bike and there isn't one on the horizon at the moment (Mrs Trumpy wants a new bathroom and the consequences of not supplying said bathroom are too awful to contemplate...). If you want it I can bring it it up with me next week.
