Suspension forks on the KDX 200 2006 model

Hi, I am 103 kg and have just purchased some new front springs for my KDX 200, they are made by Eibach in America. They are .45 strength and I think the standards are .35 or .34. The question I have is this; Is Eibach an excellent brand or do they have substandard product? The springs are 3mm different in length, and I have asked Mark Patterson (in Rotorua, who got them for me) and Ryan from Eibach in America if this is acceptable, to which they both seem to say yes it is acceptable! I haven't installed them yet because I don't really think it is a very good starting point. Is there anyone who is really up there with this issue and unbiased, who could give me some sound advice? I would really appreciate that. Thank you very much George

Just fit them, they will be fine.

Springs etc depend largly on your weight. I imagine you went though all of this before buying them. If danger says its OK to fit them do so.

Danger probably didn't want to blow his own trumpet on this forum but you might want to give him a call and talk about the whole front end set up. He's very good and an extra $ spent with him revalving etc will set up the bike 100% better. Especially seeing you have the springs already. Just click on his proride shortcut.

If Mark Patterson said they are ok then they will be. He is very well known and respected in the industry for his suspension work. He did the forks on my old KDX with new springs and racetech valving and it completly changed the bike.

Is soft good for moderate speed riding?

The KDX is unbalanced spring wise. You are too soft on the front, but heavy on the back which makes the front feel even worse. If you do any riding in Woodhill, this is not a good combination.

Check out RaceTech and use the spring calculator to find the weight springs for you.

i would reccomend .42 from my use, sometimes the racetech site is slightly on the stiff side from experince

I have been told from experienced turners over here not to believe everything on the racetech site.

But it's a start point.

3 bike shops recommended springs for the DR within a gnats fart of each other.
The RaceTech site agreed on the rear spring.

Danger has given me some pretty darn good guidelines so Ill be sending the 220 to him to sort before it even hits the trails.
He explained stuff to me that i thought was just my lackof riding skills
