Welcome to NZ and the beautiful south island. Nelson is a stunning place to be! We arrived in 1975! A mate arrived last week and is also temporarily in Chch and working in Ashburton. He's a Nurburgring trackday specialist.
You certainly are spoiled for great rides. Best book you can get is Peter Mitchell's NZ Motorcycle Atlas ISBN 10: 1-877302-32-4. All the great routes in there, complete with photos. Here's a link to a South Island ride report if you want to see what's on offer in the meantime: http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...72#post1110872

Hi thanks for the response ,ive also done the Nurburgring going to miss the europe thing but can't wait to get sorted here .
bike and leathers: www.trademe.co.nz
as for the mates... www.kiwibiker.co.nz but you seem to have worked that out. Welcome to NZ and KB
welcome to the mainland, shame you are heading north to nelson... nah kidding, its a nice spot, some really nice roads to explore up there. MyGSXF is up there and also my dad, XJman is his name on kb (but hes an old fart and has STILL not posted on Kb yet, altho he is a member).
Altho you'll probably find it cheaper to get a bike down here in christchurch than up there in nelson. What sort are you after?
Check out trademe.co.nz for both leathers and bike

Hey welcome to the nuthouse of KB.
Hope you don't find the transition too hard.
There's plenty of blighty's runaways here in NZ.
check out Just Motocycles in New Brighton they have a fresh UK arrival working there now, may help you'll feel at home. Not too far to get to from Sumner but I don't advise swimming across though
