Lane splitting the northwestern

Over the last couple of days I've had two people go out of there way to make room for me while splitting at traffic lights.

So it goes to show that some people are using their mirrors. Perhaps these were bikers who'd left the bike at home.

I would say I on any normal day the ratio of cars moving aside to those - for whatever reason - pulling in front of you is about 8:2.
If I can spare the concentration, I give a little head bob or curtsy to those who pull over.

Maybe they're bikers too, or have family on bikes.
Or maybe they'be had a friendly brick through the screen or wing mirror knocked off.
