    ZXR h1 rat fighter - stages 2 & 3

well any way i thought i would post my progress over the last few months.
how it was when i bought it

stage 2 was the seat unit
this is how it was last seen by you lot

then i did some cutting ect
and put a different seat unit on
    the cutting of the subframe

    and the seat unit

    and with the exhaust stubbied

i also changed the radiator to a larger one with a top mounted filler,
but you'll see that in stage 3 below

stage 3 starts with this little bad boy

a triumph sped triple single sided swing arm,
knowing what i know now i would have gone for a vfr750/800 arm as its alot narrower than the speed triple arm, which reuired me to mill it down and re-inforce it as it was quite thin
    any way pics
    after milling and welding

    the other side

a bit of a test fit

here is the grinding to get the clearance needed

and here it all on, with bearings to fit the zxr axle, and a good clean up
    from the side

    from the back

    and from the other side

i have the rear sprocket on now, and am getting custom made dog bones to fit,
and then she'll almost be done for this stage,

and if any one says ive ruined a perfect classic race bike, then they can just suck my $%^&

    Bro that looks mean!
I thought where are you going here? With the swing arm, but it looks great and I bet it will wheelie in any gear now.
    Good work.
I am going to be trying this with an rvf.

i thought the rvf already had a single sider on them??

yeah i dare say she'll be a bit odd to start with as the wheel base is about 5-6cm shorter than standard (depending on the axle position)
but i have slightly upgeared it, so it shouldnt be too bad,

Looks like you need to find you a house with a garage to get your bikes out of that fine scottish weather!

Could ya possibly arrange to get the fairings shipped over... that is, if you don't want them? It just so happens that there's a KB member not far from me who would make good use of them, as he has the same year ZXR as yours but an inconsiderate German tourist damaged his fairings for him. Naturally he'd pay for the shipping... and if my scarf magically turned up I wouldn't complain

If it's too much hassle, no worries I guess.
