    RIP Richard Krinkel

This from The Wgn Classic Club email.

It is with sadness that I forward on this message telling of Richard's untimely death. I never knew the man, only the legend. When folk would tell about someone getting a bike to go fast, someone else would often comment, "but not as fast Richard Krinkle made them go'. This was usually regarding Triumphs. I also remember when fancy paint jobs were being dscussed and the merits of different painters being discussed...I woould be told " xxx is good, nearly as good as Richard Krinkle." Richard was huge part of Wellington motorcycle scene of the 60's - 70's, working as a mechanic for Whites and later Bill Wetzel. He was also a central part of the legendary 25 Club, a beach racing champion and obviously much more. Although recently living in the Marlborough Sounds it is fitting that his funeral is being held among his many friends.

You will note from the message below that race bikes are encouraged to be part of a display anf the police have indicated that the unregistered competition bikes will be permitted to ride from the funeral home to Copperfields.

Richard Krinkel died on Friday as result of a fall.
    Richard was 59.

The funeral will be at Kapiti Coast Funeral Home (Kapiti Rd East) on Tuesday 23rd at 1.00 pm.

The "after match function" will be held at Cookies in Copperfields Paraparaumu Beach
Bring your bike for the ride.
Competition machines are welcome to join the ride (be at funeral home before 12.00 so trailers/utes can be ferried to Copperfields)

There will be a ride from Wellington departing Motorad 11.30 am sharp.

If you knew the man or the legend please come and honour a motorcyclist, mechanic, gardener,
    dad, beach racing champion, gentleman.
    Godspeed Richard.
