Bike Recommendations anyone?

Not everyone likes to ride an armchair Toast-remember age and image are important (remember those sprite adds?)

The 109 ain't no armchair, its a muscle cruiser, not a traditional cruiser. Having owned 4 sports bikes and ridden several other bikes of all shapes and sizes, it is fair to say the sports bike riding position is very close to how I described.

Ultimately, I'd prefer to have both the cruiser and a sports bike to get the best of both worlds.

Get the R6 2002 model onwards. Nice sleek looking 600's and once you get bored of the 600's get a modern Honda CBR Fireblade...

They are brilliant "Do Everything" bikes and offer up a world more opportunities than a straight road bike

Hi there,

I just got my full licence today & I'm looking at getting onto a bigger bike.

I ride a TZR250 at the moment, a real minter. I've thought about going for a 400 but decided if it's going to be my main mode of transport, I may as well go straight to a 600.
I like the YZF R6, the GSXR6, and have looked at a CBR600.

I'd love to hear feedback from anyone who rides any of these bikes & feel free to recommend another bike.

All expensive bikes to use as everyday transport, you might be better served by an EN6 or whatever it's called? Running costs in chains, services, tyres, fuel all add up and sports bikes sure know what to do with a gallon of gas!

I like to recommend a big vtwin like the VTR or SV thou because they are cheap to buy and maintain, easy to ride, and will keep up with the 6hundies, except for top speed.

They also make fantastic commuters because they are narrow, have a flat torque curve and a realistic riding position.

They also wont spit you off as easily as a 4.

I love my gsxr 600 k7. I find it very comfortable, for a sportsbike, Lotsa torque, for a 4il and great value at the moment. But thats me! Rideum all, buy wot you love...

Yep, that'd be my call, or even a smaller twin like the ER6 or SV 650. A lot better as everyday transport.

If you're regularly reaching the performance limits of your TZR, & that's what ya enjoy, then a 6 hundy sports weapon is probably your tool, the power of a 400 wouldn't be that much of an improvement, but if you're running inch wide chicken strips & your brake pads last longer than your pistons a small step in the direction of sensible may be smarter.

If the TZR is a MINTER, keep it AND buy a new bike. Or at least don't trade it at a ridiculouslt cheap price - a dealer will screw ya. Good luck!
