Cage causes accident then drives away

This morning at around 6:30am my flatmate was on his way to work on his trusty wee cbr250 when oppisite Riverlands Estate just south of Blenheim a car turning right turned in front of him. He braked heavily hoping to avoid hitting it or moving into oncoming traffic only to have the brakes lock up on the damp road. He slid between the offending car and the traffic waiting to turn before the bike grabbed and highsided him. At this point the car sped off. The people in the cages waiting to turn rushed to his recovery....more power to them!!! He slid on his front for long enough that the lining on the INSIDE of his leathers melted to the left leg of his uniform pants and although relativly unmarked he is going to be bruised heavily. Lost some skin on the left elbow. He was wearing full leathers, pants and jacket, plus gloves and helmet, boots....but they are pretty messed up. The ambulance was called and took him to hospital....as were police...who have since 'done the rounds' of the industrial estate looking for the afore mentioned cage...all he could tell them was it was a white sedan....none of the other cage drivers got a rego either. At the moment....he's lying on the couch in good spirits...although his baby son has taken great delight in poking...prodding and generally 'putting the bash' on his dad.
BEWARE of the dreaded unthinking....not looking cage driver!!!!

    Lucky your mate's ok!
I hope the driver of the 'white sedan' gives himself away with all the sweating and paranoia he's bound to be experiencing...

this kind of behaviour just seems so typical of cagers. they should all be made to ride a bike for 6 months before they can get their cage licence!

I say we ban all cars, get rid of those silly speed limits, and make it so you have to put your knee on the ground at least 2 times on your commute. If not you get fined.

Glad to hear your mates OK and that he was wearing full gear to help keep him in one piece and not spread down the road like a cheese grater. I hope they catch the a wipe that caused it.
I may be slow at getting things but..... no wait I'm just slow.

Well, as oblivious as some cage drivers are I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he didn't even see the accident...

It's not an excuse, but there is a difference between that and doing a runner after having caused an accident and knowing so.

I hope your flatmate will get through the soreness quickly!
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Had that happen to me.. car pulled out on me within half a metre of me, I locked the tyres (I had only be riding about 6 months.. and it was wet.. on diesel, with a bee in me eye) and fell down, cage never even noticed. Just carried on driving.

Never got any rego and never bothered calling the police, a baby blue sedan description just wasn't worth it.

the cage driver will be sweating...the police will be waiting tomorrow morning for him to turn up for work. And he saw the accident.....cos he stopped in the middle of the road when he saw the bike...but it was too late by then.
Flatty showed me tonite where he ended up....he crossed the centerline trying to avoid, and locked up on the painted median lines....slid and got throwen across the right hand lane trying to avoid the cage. It was then the driver took off. Just lucky the on coming traffic was also turning right.

Fucking just makes me angry noone has the rego. I say people who drive off after trhey cause an accident need to be educated the hard way. By Us !
How hard do you think the police looked - just driving around eating doughnits , staring at white cars.

Someone get a rego next time and distribute via pm. I'm getting angry at all people who dont see me lately. I'm getting me some metal gloves and bashing in turn to the deserving. Fuk um I say !

    Rant over.
