    Mud Bog

Went for a ride this afternoon with my two boys. Got kicked out of our normal area so we found a great new track ...

As usual it was a bit wet in places...

    A few little hill climbs..

    And a brilliant mud bog...

And as usual a few ooopses...

And a chain that will need a clean...

It was fun ... and I hurt every where

So where abouts is this track? How are the Chinese bikes holding up?

the track is at the very end of the Mangautukutuku Valley Rd on the right up the hill after the first stream crossing. Its not very long and it sure is slippery...

the mud bog is about half a km before that on the left.

The bikes engines/gearboxes are wearing well - just about everything else is pretty stuffed but they have been ridden pretty hard in the 12 months since we brought them. The larger 2 are 2004 vintage that we brought as new/old stock in 2006. I think the build quality has improved significantly since then. I am about to 'merge' the two older ones into one as too many bits are broken at the moment.

If I had known how much we were going to enjoy trail riding I would have brought jap bikes to start off with but as a cheap way to 'stick our toes in the water' they have been brilliant.

Hey Marks- im a newbie here but have ridden in the dirt for 30 years.
Im a big defender of the Chinese bikes ( the new generation ones). I have 5 of them and use them in my rental fleet for first timers.

What have you bought? mine are honda CRF copies made by Cavallo and even though my own bike is a brand new KTM 525 I have no problems with spending a day on these things!

give us some feedback on how they are going eh!
Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......
