Couldn't keep my bike going...

I don't use the choke to start mine. Grab a bit of throttle crank her up and she goes. The only time i have any trouble with her idling is when she decides that 3 cylinders are better than 4. Then i have to keep an eye on her whilst she warms up. when warm I just use some revs to get 4 cylinders back as we go down the road. Has yet to fail me.

my zxr does that sometimes....

strange little thing...cleaned all the cabrs...checked coils leads new sparkplus...has good compression....yet still sometimes gets tempremental on me....gotta get the carbs properly cleaned oneday..... but just cant be bothered taking it apart again lol

Wasp deemed that I should use bike to solve problem so I do. 3000 - 4000 km in 6 months. Only on the odd occasion , usually next morning, she does the 3 cylinders on me. Other than that no probs.

What he said.And about practising,do it on a quite street and decent weather.You don't need to have to worry about extra things while the old brain is having enough trouble just trying to get to grips with the basics.Practice the basic clutch,throttle,gearchange and braking first,before going out on the busy roads.Don'nt want to be worrying about the basics when you need to be looking out for mad cagers.Get someone to go out with you on your first sorties for a little bit of reassurance and watch how they position themselves in traffic etc. Good luck and enjoy.

agreed with most of the guys. Choke is only made to start the bike.

Clean them plugs and try a good charge and re try. Also the fuel to. That has caught some people out!

Was down your way recently, wind freaked me out, I've been riding for 3 years everyday.

The plugs do foul easily on a bike, I replace mine once a year.

I only use choke for about 30 seconds, just till it can idle on its own, and only first thing in the morning.

bloodey weird aye it's only ever next morning.... can ride it in the morning..gets stone cold ride her in the avo...sweet as no worries....

but next morning...even if it's been ridden late the night before...she aint having any part of it.....meh she goes when shes warm haha

Good to hear all is well with your ride! I guess it was just playing sooky-baba's to get your attention for some TLC!

So play nice with it, polish it and give it oil and wash it and read it stories and tuck it in at night and give it a pat and park it out of the rain and ... you get the idea!

Thats a very nice looking 250, not sure about white wheels tho.
What might help wit keeping em clean just get a little crc/silicon spray on a chammy (or wot ever the thing is called) and apply it to wheels, careful around the tires and breaks of course i find after doing that most of the time dirt n grim is really easy to take off.
