Hi

I did the same thing in June.
Crushed my thumb but didn't lose the tip although the bone was crushed and the nail removed.
It happens to a fair number of chumps.
I had been cleaning the chain with it running for years
(RG50) before it happened and cause the bike was small it stalled part way through.
Although it sounds like a dumb thing to do (and it is risky)
Kiwibiker is full of stupid behavior - like
so many m/cyclists that crash their belovered bikes cause they are going to way too fast for a corner (and blame the road surface or the tyres)

Before I went over to shaft drive bikes, I always used the lube which came in aerosol cans. Do they still make that stuff? It was brilliant/
