    $uzuki Part$

Thought I might do some last minute maintenance on the RM250 for some labour-weekend riding.

It could do with a new chain slider and chain guide block, and a new kick start lever for that matter - so I wondered down to the old Suzuki dealer on Barry's Point road... man - why is it that parts are so expensive??

$120 for the chain guide block (its a bit of plastic ffs)
$210 for a kick start lever!!

I can't believe these prices? Is this normal? Can anyone recommend any cheaper places/online stores?

No wonder nobody supports the local economy with prices like this. I found an online store in the states that sells the chain guide block for $18!

    http://www.ridegear.com/sitesearch/s...&Brand=Acerbis

I've also used a few local online stores which have been good to me thus far:

    http://www.dirtnroad.co.nz

Well thats my rant over - just really wondering where people buy parts?

Try the 'official' Suzuki part price for a GSX-R750 head bolt - $107.

    Per bolt.

    There's ten of those suckers.

Fortunately, Suzuki NZ will, after having their arse kissed for a requisite period of time, sell them at $220 for a set, which, in my humble opinion, is still a ripoff. It's a fucking bolt. How can it be worth $107, or even $22?

Set of intake valves $400, set of head bolts $220, head gasket $123, rocker cover gasket $68.

Is this shit all hand-milled from solid billets of unobtanium?

It's called PlannedObselescence. They want you to throw away your old dunger and buy a spanking new SV1000. Which will set you back just a smidgeon more than a replacement tyre valve for your current weapon of choice.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

those are about right for genuine prices, you should be able to get an aftermarket rear cahin black for about $40, that is the one you would have found on teh net, probebly, a ufo brand one, unfortunatly with kickstarts thier is no aftermarket option, give me a yell and i will sort you out a deal on that price, if you think that is bad, honda 2 stroke ones are about $260
    Cheers

topfun rock!! ask for Richard- tell him Stu from Over the top adventures told you to call and he'll see ya right with the price too! He has got so much accessory stuff there that the branded dealers won't stock- cos it competes too much with 'genuine' prices. At the moment he is doing wicked specials on boots and full apparel sets. They have a big showroom onTeRapa straight Hamilton just south of The Base and on the opposite side of the road.

When I was looking for a new Masta Cyl for my boys CR125. As he didn't just break the lever he completly smashed the lever mounts off the mast cyl. I stumbled across this for the Aussie wreckers. http://www.findapart.com.au/index.php

I found one one T/Me for 50 bucks and bought a new lever but they where quoting $120 incl lever, second hand for a $295-00 part new here.

I remember dad paying $65 each for 6 pins/clips to hold the fairing (Daytona 955i). Sad thing was they got lost in NZ Post....he complained and got a grease nipple!!! Good thing they have an insurance thing now.
Gotta luv it when parts have to come from UK/overseas.
