I have been harping on about those bloody cheese cutters for a long time, I am going to start HOUNDING Transit. There is no need for such cheap barrier construction. A thick sheet of plastic would be cheap, replacable and stop riders sliding into them. WOuld cost less than the fatal crashes caused by them will cost in the years to come. I suggest all of us stop lobbying them. You dont have to speed to be hurt by these things.

    RIP Dan.

I am so sorry to hear about the sad news, my heart and thoughts are with the family and his mum and dad. Hard times, but time shall be the healing factor.

I recall meeting and riding with Dan a few times on ATNR, very kind, polite and well mannered guy. Also at the tracks a few times. Once with a cast in his hand but still turned up to ATNR to company his mates.

    REST IN PEACE brother

Never met ya man but I when ran across your profile pic, I thought 'man, what a quirky and cool pi sticker you have you on bike'

Rest in peace bro and may the motorcycling gods watch over you and your family!

Please let us know when the service is going to take place.

    Cheers.

Just saw this thread and I'm gutted as is everyone else here.
When I first got back into riding a couple of years back I rode with Dan on several Coro loops and I got on well with him and enjoyed his company.

He always used to rib me about how do you manage to throw your lazy boy armchair through the corners like that.

    RIP friend.

My wife is not a member here (too busy finishing a PhD) but she wished me to express her condolences. She rides between Auckland and Hamilton quite regularly and this incident affected her deeply (as I'm sure it has all of us).

If we can we'd be glad to be part of any procession in honour of a fellow biker taking out way before his time.

Comments of this nature directed to his grieving parents at this stage of time do no good to them nor anyone else around them. It does not help at all.

As suggested by Senior Mods and Spank you might want to refrain from discussion as such.

    Thanks.

I do hope you are both wrong, if you are right then there are potentially thousands of riders out there on suspect frames.
An independant engineers inspection is needed before you can form an opinion mark as the facts have yet to become clear.
WW is right to have the bike inspected to find out if this was in fact the actual cause.
WW & family , I offer you my deepest sympathy.

Please allow me to also offer my condolences. Even though I am at the other end of the country this is still terrible news!
    RIP Dan.
