Awesome - I imagine after a while away from the handlebars you never quite forget what it is like to ride your own bike. As good as you remember?

No racing needed.......mine corners better than yours, you have a better straight line speed. I am a nana, so are you....LOL. We can hold hands as we race along the beachfront!

Surprising even to me. It has been maybe 18 months 2 years since I have ridden a bike, scooter time in Raro does not count......LOL. This is the biggest cc bike I have ridden in so many years I dont want to tell It is fabulous! Took me right back to the time when anything was fair game, even if my feet did not touch the ground! Trust me you dont forget, the first corner out on the open road, leaned in on an unfamiliar bike and thought, best counter steer through this baby........LOL.

    Talking She passed!

Took the lovely down to the garage yesterday after work for a WOF. Sailed through! Yeeha, all legal. A certain someone who apparently was not here made some adjustments to handlebar and clutch position for me on Saturday, so all is as it should be. Cant wait for the weekend, first big ride out for us!

Well today we had our first proper outing! A bit over 230kms so a fair test. I am delighted with how she runs, and the corrected bar and lever position makes the world of difference for sure. Only really shamed myself out once today so that is good. The trusty sidestand cut out switch got me!

Need to get a bit of a tune up done, as she is reluctant to idle, and starves for gas if i turn the choke off. Yes this is an old fashioned beast. As I have ridden all day with the choke on full (bogged badly if I attempted to close it) I was a bit concerned about fuel consumption. MSTRS reckoned 150km tank, the guy we bought it off said 200. Me, filled it at 182, and had not hit reserve, so think it actually has a reasonable distance capability if all is well tuned. Now all I need is a friendly someone that knows a bit about balancing 4 carbs, who has vacuum gagues? and wants to come play

However, the old girl clips along at a good pace. Does anyone know what this engine should redline at? I am sitting at 6k doing 120kmph, and she still has plenty of get up and go. Only problem is I am looking for another gear. Guess I will either get used to it or change the gearing a little bit

Dont worry about the side stand thing, I do that once in a while, (and have had issues at petrol bowser's in the past )
And all these techinical questions, and wanting to change gearing etc, your starting to sound like our DMNTD one
Awesome you had such a good ride, and was great to see you out there was a big crowd to negotiate. Ya look very smart on her

    Well thank yee kindly.

Funny you should mention DMNTD, I am considering stripping the mags and getting them powder coated got to be some perks in working for a company that owns a powder coating plant after all....LOL

Once upon a time I used to spend all day in or near a motorcycle workshop, you do pick up a few bits and bobs of knowledge along the way, but you know what they say.....a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous

Admit to being a tad anxious attending the ride as my first real outing on a totally unfamiliar bike, but, like I said apart from the little side stand problem, it was no worries. Slow manouvering (my main concern due to clutch control) was a piece of cake!
