High winds: interesting skills in them

coming just out of Clive this afternoon and seen nice bike parked in tree line, with a white station wagon with large black mark in middle of rear boot , biker looked like he was okay, however hope he was not at fault, but gee's the wind gust's make riding more interserting , in the hawkes bay how's the rest of you's enjoy the strong wind's while riding or rather use a car ?

I was out giving the Motard a run on Sunday, wasn't toooo bad

Was out dairyflat way and though i would double check that the old girl could still pull the front wheel up (as ya do) and went through a cutting doing 80ish and just about got blown off the road,

one of the scariest moments i've had on a bike,

Wwnt directly home and changed the undies

In strong winds the trick is to drop her down a gear or two from normal....say 3rd on my zxr250...and over the harbour bridge even on a really windy day it's fine...just gotta keep the power on keep the acceleration going....where as you sit in 6th pootling along at the same speed without feeding it power youll get blown roud like crazy...

just what ive been told and it works...

Yeah, that kinda works for me but with my upright riding position I seem to act like a sail. That daily return trip over the harbour bridge is no fun for me at the mo'. Luckily most of the cages seem to see I'm having problems and gave me plenty of space.

I used to have the same problem with the bridge, but solved it by moving the business to Silverdale, now just a nice dowdle up East coast road in the morning

Apostrophes in everything except Hawke's Bay? I blame the gusty winds.

Superb! I'm on my 2nd one - I had one for the last 2 years I was in London and got this one when I got over here (worked out cheaper to sell in London than ship it).

It's probably 30kg heavier than the single pot motards I've had but doesn't feel it once you get moving - just as flickable as a single but with enough grunt to keep up with (some of) the sports boys and sit on the motorways at a decent speed.
