Cheesecutter ride organization (Tentative ride details posted)

Some of the things we need help with in organizing this ride. If you are able to help, please let us know.

    Ride destination:
The route will be north bound along the southern motorway, but we need a place to finish the ride that has the space for all the bikes to park and riders to congregate.

    Wellington/Christchurch organizers.
Volunteers needed to organize protest rides in these two centers on the same day.

What about Transit New Zealands office in queen street at Qantas house or there abouts we could check to see if there is a carpark around that area.

There's a park near the transit(?)/police HQ just after the bridge on the shore. Dunno if the big-wigs will be in on the weekend but a polite letter or call could be made. ie, please come and see how many bikers are honestly concerned about these barriers. No heckling or anything, I'm sure everyone can behave themselves and commant the respect this deserves. If a head honch can look in your eye's and the eye's of a good number of bikers who have lost friends on the road it may be a good way to bring reality home to people that can help the cause?

sounds all good, how are (we) making the public aware that this is a protest etc, there needs to be as much publicity as possible,
also-- whilst i fully agree with the ride and its purpose, there needs to be a follow up ride/program very shortly afterwards, ie an organised email out to the appropriatte people responsible for the barriers!, or a ride out to the beehive etc etc

people have short memories ,especially politicians, a few days after the ride people forget! unless ofcourse it is thrown in their faces again and again and again.
i have a few ideas (for example) arranging for white crosses, to be put at every couple of hundred meters on the cheese cutters. to make people see.
or signs erected on the side of the motorway, even just little signs like the m.o.t put on certain roads, like (Wire cutters..are deadly) if we have a unified campaign and everyone from kb makes just "one sign", that will put a heck of a lot of signs out there,
we could arrange a suitable day, where we will erect all of them, watch the press have a field day
imagine if we all made half a dozen signs, now that would make people notice!!

How's about someone makes up a one or two page flyer for the rest of us to email to our mates, stick on webbysites and to print out and give to motorcycle shops?

I'd offer to do it but my design skills are $hite and to be quite honest I'm up to the eyeballs with work.

Word / Publisher / whatever and no doubt someone will convert it to PDF.

Could finish at AUT just like the Westpac ride? Or would somewhere more central be better?

I agree to "protest in the park" in central city ! !

I will def be there, and will post up and email the flyer around the office.

I think the transit office would be cool, or the pig house in albany on the shore - lots of parking there.

Maybe we could all stop ON the harbour bridge? Just for a good 5 min - good photo op for the papers / news.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Would the Puke raceway be a good place to start?

    Would they be keen?

Is it too far out of the way?
