    awesome event

    AWESOME EVENT GUYS!

Definitely the biggest group I have ridden in...

Just an idea - how about riding to Wellington to deliver the petition?

Auckland Anniversary Weekend would be best? 27th Jan
I would even miss the Bon Jovi concert for it.

Could leave to Wellington on Sunday - sleep nite and deliver first thing Monday so that everyone can get back in time for work!

Imagine all the bikes that would show along the way!

Awesome idea, an en masse ride to Wellington to deliver the petition would generate quite a bit of noise for the cause.

It'd be a bloody good way of following up the campaign too.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Agree ... there has to be a stance when the petition goes into the House ... its a place where legally we can make a point, as was done yetesday, but we can make a true noise as well!

Good idea, but trying to keep a ~200 bikes in a group all the way to Wellywood would be a mission and a half. Better idea would be break the ride into "official" sections that go through larger towns starting a few kays out until a few kays past. Then let everyone make their own pace to the next section (at legal speeds of course). Final run into Welly would be along the expressway with police escort.

And stuff Monday, get them to put a special Sunday session on for us.

good idea as you will pick up riders from every town heading south .. say fr paraparaumu congregate as one large group & ride to welly that would be damn well impressive .. since there seems to be a bit of support fr political parties would not be hard to have some of them met .. but when do they come back after the xmas break ?

I agree it would be quite a task, but it has been done before. The french farmers can do similar protests in tractors and combine harvesters I don't see why we can't do the same on two wheels.
YES it would take some organisation, YES it would take a great commitment and YES it would get the message out. These large scale events are the ones that make international headlines, and then the real pressure would be put on parliament. I'm keen enough.
    Just my 2 cents worth...

It was an awesome ride to Auckland, great protest ride and had a cruisy ride home. Thanks all involved, will post pics later!
No offence to stuttering Irish morons, but I don't think he was Transit's best choice of a spokesman.
    -or maybe he was.

This article was in the Herald this morning - not 100% sure, but I think they got Felix's surname spelling incorrect

and this other article on the same site...

I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

    If I can help

If I can help organise anything let me know... 021 520 639!

I like the idea of meeting just outside the major cities!

BUT IMAGINE HOW AWESOME IT WOULD BE FOR LITTERALLY 1000's of bikes to converge on Wellington all together and make a united front!

Start one ride in Invergargill or Christchurch get them to meet us in Wellington and really really really send a message that couldn't be missed?
