guy fawkes weekend - pretty good chance of rain....
"ban 'the cheesecutters' ride", (ride to ban the cutters)
or
ban "the cheesecutters ride"? (ban the ride)
don't ask how i misread that at first glance
Rain is the forcast for saturday, will give me a chance to test out me new waterproof gloves

To meet 'on the west side you will have to turn RIGHT when comming south, if you turn left & stop you are in the carpark of Farrell's nurseries. Farrell's are OPEN saturday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The carpark will have CUSTOMERS !!!!!!!!
200 + BIKES parking in there isn't an option
Your map is the carpark for a school on the EAST SIDE not the WEST !!!!!
you can get mabey 5 or 6 cars in it. the rest is closed off.
200+ bikes will not get in there, on top of that this is a main road used by Stephensons Quarry's TRUCK & TRAILER UNITS & they work on Saturday . Totally unsuitable for a large number of bikes . If using the West Side of Ararimu Road there is nowhere there for this number of bikes to safely park.
My suggestion is to move the start point to the BP @ Bombay. West side of the truck park should have enough room for the numbers we are expecting
yeah, that map was made using the intructions to turn left, so i assumed we were going to maul the nearest parking lot.
moving the start this late in the game may be a disaster.... i've seen flyers up quoting ramamara exit
As stated , this is a business carpark, the nursery is open from 9.00 am to mid afternoon on a saturday.
The one shown in your map is a school carpark & is closed except for the little bit on the roadside . 5 or 6 cars max.
Not moving the start could be a bigger disaster.
Apart from anything else there are no facilities @ Ramarama, not even a shit house . I would think if the predicted 200+ bikes show up Someone will need to pee @ the very least.
Rain - oh well!
My wet weathers leak like a sive! This is way more important than getting a little wet & cold!
If you worried about safety take a car - at the end of day if they have cars and bikes protesting it will have more effect!
As for the parking at the school DUDE we are on bikes go around the gates?? Or ask the school to unlock them for us or give us a key for the day - imagine they wouldn't mind!
Route: All I know is where we are starting and finishing - I have made suggestions and will leave it to the guys that are doing a FARKIN LOT OF WORK BEHIND THE SCENES!
Just hope that they organise it with maps if they leave it too late to put up here!
SO DONT BAG THIS OR PUT NEGATIVE CONATATIONS ON IT - WE NEED ALL THE SUPPORT WE CAN!![]()

Yeah riiight they will give you a key to the skool cos you have 200 bikes comming???Not a hope in hell of getting that
Totally agree with you, BUT shutting down an innocent local business or trespassing in a skool with TV 3's camera's there ??? Yep thats a good ideaWe need all the POSITIVE support we can get & neither of these will do that
As it stands we have a dubious start point & a finish point (museum) but no clue as to HOW we are getting there or if thewill shut off some lights so we can all get through safely or even if the Auckland city council have been approached for a permit to hold a 'parade' through their streets..... This ride seems to be more about TV3's camera's & keeping the time slot we might get on the news than about safety.
TV3 might put a good ride on the news , but a complete fuck up will end up on the news as well & any credibility we might have had will be out the window. Our chances of fighting the cheese cutters or anything else then will be close to ZERO![]()
Bring a cup?...was talking to a bloke down the road earlier about the ride, hes going to tag along, he told about a wire barrier protest ride he went on in England a few years ago 33,000 bikes!...took him 2 hours to get out of hyde park. 33,000 sounds like bullshit but its what he said.
