Yep fantastic ride, glad the weather gods were kind anf yes big thumbs ups for the cops made it a bit safer.
Hope we get a result from it and get those dam WRB replaced or covered with bike friendly pads or something.
Very glad I was going home south bound...the tail back was still well down the road on the north side! Oh, and a few rubber neckers to deal with!
Yeah, just got back myself. What a great turnout. Well done to all that made it and a special well done to the organisers!
I think the only casualty was a couple of cars having a nose to tail near the autobarn in Drury.
I was the last in the group (in the ute) and came over the rise, saw red, I jammed my anchors on, all good, checked the mirror, the patrol car behind me got close, but again, all good.
Slowly going up the hill, look behind me at the mass traffic jam, and sure enough, there were a couple of cars pulled up right next to the cutters, exchanging details. Mass cars doing the big divert around them.
BUT!
Not anything to do with us. The 2 second rule doesn't stop applying on bike protest days.

Fuck it, let's ride!
Wicked turnout guys, it was awesome turning up at Ramarama and seeing all the bikes parked up!!
Thanks to David from my work and Ozzie and the lady in the ute for playing the rear guard with me in the cars, and definitely the Police Car and Bikes, you all did a wonderful job in keeping the ride together and safe.
Suffice to say, Gina's "super dooper company hack" did well with it's westie chick hostess serving drinks and nibbles - Chortle chortle I say.

Om nom nom.
Yes guys, there was good media coverage. A couple of us did interviews for TVNZ and Sunday Herald, so watch tonight.
Big thanks to the NZ Police for keeping us safe and ensuring the ride ran smoothly, makes us look much more favourable in the public eye. Top marks for a well behaved group.
Big thanks go to the many organisers. There have been some sleepless nights and long hours put in over a very short time.
Well done to everyone who turned up, especially those from out of town. Last bike count just before departing was 330 bikes plus pillions, and a few tacked on along the way.
Best news is we have been seen and heard! We have great support from Labour party MP's and I am following up an offer of support from a National MP too. Looks like we'll get the review we want, and then we just need to keep the pressure on to ensure a positive change occurs from it.
WELL DONE EVERYONE!!!
Everything in moderation, including moderation itself
That was a pretty good ride/day
I was very impressed with the organisation, top marks to you guys.
Hope ya'll had a good time and signed the petition.
Cheers for the ride![]()
Well done everyone. What are great turnout!! Thanks to everyone who organised this protest ride. Hopefully we will get some good action from the Powers that Be in parliament thanks to Crashe. Remember to sign the petition if you haven't already done so.
Say No to Cheesecutters.
Small and dangerous with a sting in my tail!!
Nice, looked like more than 330 to me. Well done to the organizers.
Thanks everyone, it was a GREAT turn out. With only 1 weeks notice.
I believe TV1 was there, and there will be good coverage on the Herald Sunday.

AKL ride was just on TV1 news![]()
Good coverage on TV1 News!!! Shows we can protest peacefully and with order unlike the protest group outside the Labour Party Conference. For a bit I thought that ours would be overshadowed. Thank goodness it wasn't and showed us in a positive light.![]()
Small and dangerous with a sting in my tail!!
The transit guy was convincing wasn't he??!!!
Not his best day lol.
It was an awesome ride to Auckland, great protest ride and had a cruisy ride home. Thanks all involved, will post pics later!
