I hope a lota Wellington and other regions close to Wellington turn up cos we don't have the dam things here yet and we are supporting the places that do. Come on NZ get on to this and speak out. We won't know numbers until they actually arrive or don't arrive. If we panic about numbers then we're getting wound up for no reason. The success of this ride is not entirely dependant on numbers. Yes, many faces does make more impact but it is as equally important that the message is delivered.
There is a lot of advertising going on through bikes shops and pamphlet drops. I am currently organising a radio 'notice' through several stations so that it is mentioned there as well.
What is really good to see is the cross-bike gender support for this campaign. I have had messages from Harley riders, sportsbikers, scooter riders, classic bikers and various other brand groups. This is an issue that virtually all bikers agree on - regardless of affiliation.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
we will remember them

So what are people doing for arm bands?
I was going to bring along a couple of rolls of red duct tape - if a few others can remember to do the same, then no one should miss out.
Actually, I'll call in at spotlight first and have a look at some cheap red material - that might be easier to just buy half a meter and cut it in to strips.
Hmm. Might do both.
