    I'm not really a knee-down sort,

    BUT!

I can lean that far with both knees firmly against the tank pads, body completely square. In fact I think I'd only just slightly be scraping a peg. Perhaps my riding style is old-fashioned, but what's the point?

ah but you have run out of clearance if your peg is down, hanging off like daddy long legs there means you can lean the bike less to go around the bend

The knee down is the holy grail of sports bike riding. much more important than lap times, lines, braking points and decision making.

    you meanies.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
