Still waiting to hear if Kawasaki will sort me out with a new frame. I'm in the process of buying something to replace the bike at the moment anyway, so if it gets a new frame it'll be fixed up and sold, and if not it'll be for sale as parts I guess.

Exactly the same thing that happened to my ZX6, Kawasaki replaced the frame, I had to pay the costs of changing everything over. I went out to get quotes, Motorad - we'll see you right (no cost mentioned or how long it would take), Boyles - no more than $xxxxx & we'll empty the workshop & just do your bike, should be one day.
Turned up at motorad, comment have you come to drop the bike off, NO to pick up the frame & have Boyles change it, comment your frame is over there.
Didnt even help to take the frame out to the ute.
Kawasaki were good about it took some time for the frame to turn up, but it is a 10 year old bike.

I rebuilt a 95 ZX6 with exactly the same cracks on both sides as yours. I was fortunately enough to find a decent frame in Oz that was primo, so bought it and rebuilt it. I've heard of people going to Kawa bout this, but not heard any success stories yet. Not that there hasn't been any, just not heard them. I really wouldn't weld that up either, throw it. It's done.

And I'm gobsmacked; how the hell is that a shock to fail the warrant on that?! Any bike should fail at the sight of a hairline crack!!!

I think he means that it was a shock to find that the frame was cracked, not what you've read into it there Buggy!
