Has a aftermarket exhaust so might need to be tuned, because top end seem a bit flat. Mechanically motor is mint, Cosmetically bike is in good condition.
He's just brought a VTR, so the ZX9 has to go.

If its a C1, thats a good buy, it would need dyno time with an aftermarket exhaust, the carbs don't work so good without it, it'd would go better with the original can.

getting back to the subject of jumping on a big bike after being on a small one... i just test rode frosty's zxr750 today after being on 250 strokes and shit it's quick! so much smoother in the corners too. i had so much fun i couldnt get off!! but getting back on my TZR250 was still real fun.

riding around the burbs is a bit frustrating on the zxr though, i really needed to take it onto some mean straights or something to get a real good test of speed. but yea, i didnt know bikes could go such mental speeds! - and thats only a 750 too :P

Getting sick of the RG... too light and noisy and gutless. Took it out to the open day at Pukekohe today (50ks each way), with my gf on the back, and was glad to get hm. The wind was quite strong too, so we were getting blown around a bit. Had to have the thing screaming at 10k all the way just to keep up with the traffic. Feel like I've had a full body workout! Great round town bike, but not nice on the open road.

So much smoother and quieter and relaxing on the zx9r.

Good to meet some of the KB crowd too. Big ups to Two Smoker for putting my bike through its paces.

Seen ZX6 and 7R's with carb heater kits, why is this?. Icing only occured when i thrashed the shit out of it, then backed off. But if you ride it like a Nana seemed to be alright.

"All that is happening is that the fuel evaporating in the carbs makes them cold, and in a damp atmosphere ice forms inside the carbs. Because of the chilling effect of the fuel evaporation within the carbs, this can happen at outside' temperatures of up to 5 Celcius. This initially blocks the smallest jets in the carbs and affects the engine at low revs. The more mixture that passes through the carbs, the worse it gets, so riding fast (or revving the engine at a standstill) makes it worse.

The simple solution is to stop and kill the engine (which stops any more ice forming) as soon as you notice a problem, and wait for the engine heat to thaw the ice. Obviously this is inconvenient! The best solution however is to buy some Silkolene Pro-FST (fuel additive)

getting very side tracked here but it seems to be my fault, sorry beanz....... never mind. Mines a C2, the thing is all the ZX9R's have carbs, most of the newer stuff is injected and the ram air makes it worse, though it is particularly good for horse power but its not a problem with the carb warmers, unless maintainence is a bit slack, particularly here at this time of the year Actually mine is halfway across the mediteranean at the moment, heading in your direction so it should be nice and warm

Ducati had the same problem back as far as 1994 as my brother found out on his new 750SS,the dealer said it was a NZ only problem,and tried selling him some kind of kit with different float bowls to fix it

"Bollocks" as they say locally, dealers talk rubbish sometimes, its a problem anywhere there is a cold air for quite a few bikes & cars as i discovered
