    Yahoo xtra News, this evening

A female motorcyclist, aged 36, was killed when she collided with a car on Awhitu Rd near Pollock in the Franklin district about 7.15pm on Saturday.

Police said the car was being driven by a Canadian tourist, and it appeared it was travelling on the wrong side of the road.

The woman's name has not yet been released.

    RIP

That is one of my favourite local roads. I took my son for a ride out to the lighthouse on Monday. Yikes.

Thoughts are with her family, so sad.
