Well done, good to see some determination nowadays.

Advice.

1. ALWAYS assume other motorists haven't seen you.

2. Practice your braking. Never snatch at the lever, apply some brake to load the front up before really giving it heaps. Keep your head up and pointing where you want to go. Practice, practice, practice.

+1 for the targhet fixation advice. Be aware of this and practice it always. You'll go where you look.

I was going to call jinx on you but I see your post was after I got smashed up this morning.

This is my first post on KB, but i've kept an eye on the forums for a while. After five years of saving and winning over the olds I've finally got a bike!

As far as gear goes, Ixon jacket and pants,a shark helmet, boots and teknic leather gloves (in the process of getting a fluorescent jacket and back protector).

Good move mate... When you bike goes from pic 1 to pic 2 onwards it really helps if you have the right gear on. Didn't even know my hands had hit the ground but my gloves have been nicely ground down....

Will write up what happened in another post in the hope that some of you learn from the incident. Cops have already decided it wasn't my fault but there's some insights probably worth sharing.

Fingers crossed she gets written off so I can use the cash for my upgrade. Novel way to sell a bike I know.....
