    i bought a ducati ST4

used with less than 10k on the clock.
    around your budget.
it's brilliant, handles like a sportsbike, but more relaxing riding position.
i'm 6'2 and 90 kilos - was great with me and madass (new KB member) two up.
i was looking at all the ones you were.
one 2 hour ride sold me.
bought it from kerry at motohaus.
he has a red one still too i think.
i bought the yellow one - it had bags (and they are a hoot!)
PM me if you want to discuss.

How does it go? "The best suspension is the best you've ever ridden"?

When I had the VTR1000, despite its suspension being much maligned, I actually found it pretty good - heaps better than anything else I'd ridden.
    It's all relative.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I've spoiled myself this year. I don't need 150, that's just a bit silly. The only real power requirement is that the bike happily pull like a train in whatever gear I like. I don't really need the top-end YEEEEEHAAAAAAA!

Thank you, sir, I shall. But, no, I don't think an RF will be my thing. Apart from anything else I don't want an old-ish bike that I'm going to have to do a bunch of work on almost immediately.

Well, you know, I could see myself on a cruiser. All that rolls on two wheels is good as far as I'm concerned. The problem is that cruisers fuck my back almost as bad as sportbikes fuck my legs. Neither riding position is 'natural'.

Seat-to-peg ergonomics, old bean. Wouldn't work.

Nope. If I get a BMW, it'll be an R, end of story.

Also, seat to peg ergonomics! How many times do I have to repeat that phrase?
