Donations for Shaun Harris and family

As suggested by Joninety there are going to be huge and ongoing costs involved for Shaun and Fiona with Shaun's recovery, not to mention while Shaun is laid up in hospital recovering with Fiona by his side nobody is earning for them to take care of the day to day costs (Mortgage etc).

I would ask the moderators of this site to open a bank account in Shaun's name so we can all donate towards their plight. If we all donated $10.00 it would go a long way towards helping them out and don't forget the huge amount of input Shaun has had into our sport in the past 20 years, not only as a top class international rider representing us around the world, but also with the huge amount of work he does as a mentor and coach to people new to our sport. Without Fiona's and his family's blessing he would not have been able to do as much as he has.

I would like to start this off with a $200.00 donation and a further weekly donation of $5.00 and would ask all other KB members and indeed anybody involved in our sport to add to this fund. However small your donation it will be going to a good cause and with a membership of over 8,000 if we all put in just a one-off donation of $10.00 and an ongoing $2.00 a week til Shaun is back on his feet, I'm sure it will make his recovery so much more comfortable and faster.

Shaun has been there for so many of us in the past now its our turn to help him. I would ask the moderators to contact me ASAP on acrfibreglass@actrix.co.nz so we can get this fund started. Cheers Billy

Does ACC help..............what about Shaun's business, is he a solo operator. If so should we also look at gettn someone to help keep things going for when Shaun recovers?

As per Billys suggestion, I've made a transfer and set up an auto-payment to the account.

Please give what you can folks, don't be shy. This man does more for New Zealand road racing than any other racer I know and has a young family that needs our support.
