yeah and if he has got on motorway he couldve pissed on the chopper....

chopped does 230 kph ish right....

any modern litre bike will do 300...

and also the fact the chopper is having to travel a longer distance.......

and it has to get fired up people get in airbourne and get to the snece...if you loose cops fast enough your sorted.

    just gotta have the balls.

A few pages back was a link to the video on the TV3 website with out the reporter talking on it. You can hear a police comms radio in the back ground. I'm thinking it's an onto it cameraman who heard about it in the area and set up in a likely place. Maybe more luck than anything as I noticed TV3 had the exclusive.

The thing is if the Camera Man could get in the right place in time and be set-up to get such good footage only based on listening ta the Cops on their radio band, couldn't the Cops done the same thing? Something is just not right there. A bit set-up in my mind. But who?

I think you'll find you got that one arse about face. Last time I looked, there weren't many traffic lights, corners and intersections in the air.

He got away. "Chase called off when speeds exceeded 200kph" was the call. I wonder though if that meant the cops were doing 200kph trying to catch him because of the massive acceleration advantage of a motorbike?

Anyway, given the fascist confiscation of vehicles for what COPS SAY is 'racing' what the fuck else should they expect other than people running from the law?

Give you lot handbags and slap it out over this one by the sounds of it.

There could be another reason why he was riding like he was. There was an event over a year or two ago where a cesena aircraft was on a mission to hit the sky tower.. turns out the pilots wife was cheating on him and he wanted her attention..

Maybe the rider was in the wrong headspace at the wrong time and was quite possibly attracting the attention for his other half to realise things. Just a bad choice of time and place.

Some bikers out run the cops on occasion, never makes the news etc as its not usually in the city this kinda thing happens. And we have all at least once gone over the speed limit.

But in saying that, it could quite possibly be he was trying to be the next Ghost Rider. Nope there's only one and thats the original.

Lots of possibilities on this one and various sides can be argued till the cows come home, just dont get ya knickers in a knot. We're bikers after all

What motorbike? It was a specials happy hour at the dunkin donuts...

1st wagon was the Sgt. The canopied ute is the dog van.

We have insurance for car theft we dont need cowboy hero cops pursuing at high speed
Fair call. We won't chase stolen cars, we won't rush to catch burglars on, we won't intervene in domestics, assaults, gang shootings, knife fights, armed robberies, whatever. Shall we just stand and watch???? That would be OK????????? If so, will my pay be affected if I just stand there and watch and do nothing??????

Road Spikes for motorbikes are probably closer than you think... Things like this just push it on, closer to implementation....

    maybe a ghost rider attempt?
no, no - it's a conspiracy from the LTNZ to undermine the campaign!

or maybe the cops are just useless?

what so the theif can get a few hours PD and think about getting away next time?

And what were the cops to do if they were ahead of the bike? Block the road? Use spikes? Both of which would be likely to kill the rider (they are not permitted to use spikes against bikes or trucks for obvious reasons).

The Helicopter is worth its weight in gold in these situations. No escape for the stupid pricks that run.

I would say a few hundred motorists went home that night cursing bikers saying what a tosser that guy was. Certainly did nothing for the good of motorcycling now did it.

A few hundred? Pretty sure more people watch the 6 oclock news than that
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
