There is a pic floating around somewhere of a CBR 1000 RR Cop bike. That would do the trick

I agree with most of what you say but for christs sake we as a community need to start owning up and taking responsibility for our actions!!!!

If I do something wrong as the officer in charge of a fire truck I am accountable for my actions...it may have been a crew member that fucked up ...it doesnt matter its still my responsibility, I`m supposed to be in charge...if a drop kick breaks the law..its oh he had a hard life, its not his fault he`s just mis-understood, the cops shouldnt have chased him , cause now look what they`ve done some innocent party has been hurt.

He chose to break the law, he chose to be a drop kick.
.... Gotta spread the bling... well earned though!!!

Appeals Court Authorizes Lethal Force in Low Speed Chases
US Appeals Court rules that police may use lethal force against a motorist who scares other motorists to death in a low-speed chase.

Fair enough they take out a high-speed pursuit - but...?
i was actually referring to the bit about UK police complaining a harrier jet doing low altitude manuveurs stuffed one of their radars doing 300mph.

police went to the raf to complain about the stuffed radar, but turned out they were lucky. radar gun was detected by the harrier's computer as enemy radar and an automatic counter measure - ie a air to surface missle, would have been fired was the aircraft armed

we just need to do the maths and the maths was done for me , a cop chased a car that was stolen till it crashed in New market . it ran a light killed a man and permanently crippled his wife, the wife needs constant care ,the car was worth about $8k to10k. the ladies ongoing care is about $100k a year for another 30 years or so, her husbands life was priceless of course , and think of all the family pain and suffering so for an $8k car which is still written off we pay millions of dollars not to mention the pain and suffering , these figures are approximate and it was a cop who informed me, it was an incident that happened in the early 90s , it sadens me.
So to clarify - the cops should act based on what might happen?

Shit - on that basis I'm going to stay in bed, sell the bike, avoid other people, live in a bubble and give up on life.

Dude... you breaka the law you face-a da music. Accountability, and responsibility. Be a man - stand and be counted.

Accountability and responsibility have gone out of fashion, it's always someone else fault

you're not fucken wrong... and right now I'm pissed (drunk... not angry) sot he truth shall be forthcoming... the ROmans had it worked out In Vino Veritas!

Anyway. I'm heartily sick of whinging little shits looking for someone to sue because they got a grazed knee falloing off a bike, or the cops being blamed for a ticket or a burglar needing to be understood so the TV they nicked can be put in context in order for the punishment to best fit the situation "taken in totaliity".

    Fuck off (not you Kick)

You do the crime you do the time. Pure and simple. The punishment needs to show what SOCIETY thinks of what you did. The pollies, the judges/judiciary all get carried away with helkping the person that did the crime.

I have no problem with helping that p[erson - but that comes 2nd. Society needs to send them a message first. What they did was not good enough. What they did was unacceptable and that the only reason they're not getting their teeth kicked in is because we are a civlised society - unlike the fucken wart that committed whatever crime they're trying to pin on someone or something else.

(God I hope that makes sense...)

Oooohhh! I'd ignored that bit, 'cos I'd seen it somewhere else... See what happens when you're not specific? Yep - I'd seen it elsewhere - as a Tornado - not Harrier... did a search on 'Tornado Uk police radar', and it looks like an urban myth. Seems like the story's been around for 12 years or more... ...but it IS funny though!

    One of the links... http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/po...ex.htm?t=57132

And here's a link to some not bad action shots of various UK fighter/training aircraft during low-level exercises. Apparently taken from the ground (My guess is from a high point, looking down...)! Link: http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=296115 - just for summat to look at that's quite cool, even if it is non-motorcyle related... ...and

More or less... About the only thing you left out is that the penalties for repeat offences (particularly theft and violence) should get progressively more severe, given that 80% of the crimes are committed by 20% of the offenders! They may even get the message after a while...

i would suggest the "3 strikes" approach of many states in the US, but then those on their 3rd stike have no reason not to run and will do everything and anything they can to avoid being caught - yes, they rather try to run/shoot their way out of their 3rd strike, rather than just not doing it in the first place

Don't they run or shoot already?

Maybe not the draconian 20 years or so that the states give for 3rd strike - but (where prison time has not already been served) say 1-5 years for 3rd offence, depending on the severity of the crime, then a mandatory doubling of the previous sentence each time they re-offend (with parole time added on AFTER sentence served)... If prison time has already been served, then previous sentence gets doubled...
