Yeah seems to be the American way for many over there. Keep in mind the interstates are proper roads, long & straight for miles so to keep it relative their roads are a lot safer than ours. Even so I personally wouldn't make a habit out of that. Once in a blue moon is fine (like skinny dipping)

Romeo, yeah ive seen both those before, both are as idiotic as each other that's for sure lol.

ps: Hate it when clowns say "repost" like were all one being seeing/doing everything @ the same time Ive personally come across heaps of shiz in forums that some clown has said "repost" & its a first for me.

Irony is always strong... it's got iron in it.

Anyway, will look forward to seeing those two videos you posted Romeo, it'll have to wait until tomorrow at work. Videos and modems don't go well together.

Going through Tai Tapu today I saw a bloke who seemed to have the right idea... Helmet, proper jacket... and shorts and trainers On a dirtbike even. I hope he had just been down to the shop for some milk, it would have been a cold experience on the open road today, the wind was rather crazy.

oh really? if anything, I find long straight roads so incredibly boring I wouldn't be surprised if someone fell asleep with nothing to do. People just need to drive/ride within their limits. I think long straight roads are the dangerous ones.

anyway, back to the vids... overtaking on the outside? with gravel/wall etc... it takes an immense amount of stupidity to even consider it.

That would have to be one of the most ridiculous statements ive ever heard. Straight roads are more dangerous that twisties? lol

I think you will find statistics would prove you to be horribly wrong.

Hmm, apparently this fella find something to keep him occupied while riding down the long straight road. I reckon it would be kinda hard to fall asleep without a helmet @ 100+ km/h.

don't know... people simply go too fast to be able respond appropriately in twisties...

What if you took the fallen asleep at the wheel into account? Could be argued the boredom assisted. Could also be argued they would have fallen asleep regardless... but I don't trust official figures anyway. Twisties, your mind is fully engaged (or at least, should be )

Anyway, personal experience, I hate straights. I get cramped, have various pains, get bored, mind wanders, coz there is noooooothing toooo dooooo
