Cruisers - Just ride them!

Why did nobody tell me sooner that a cruiser is VASTLY superior to one of those whiny bloody sprots things?

I have clocked up a few hundred km in the last week, and I just don't wanna stop!

And even better - I got to have a sit on the new C109R at Big Boys Toys yesterday - just about had to pull me jacket over the front of me trou when I got off, that is a SEXY bike!

Just need to sort a problem with the cooling fan not running, other than that the 700 is a beautiful creature

Dude , we have been telling guy's that the big ass cruisers are the total package, but we get called gay, queer and other names. Glad you are enjoying the bike. Keep on riding ,there are some more rides to be posted as now the weather has turned for the better.

Cruisers are the way to goYou don't see many Cruiser riders switching back to Sporties. And it's not just older riders that enjoy the benefit of the cruiser ride. You still got the power, you got the comfort and the most important thing, the road. Go the Cruisers

After 3 years on the GSX-F600 as a "returning biker", I loved it and didn't know if I'd like a cruiser, but as you say, now I just wanna keep on riding! (The bike, the bike...)

Exactly what I found after riding four sports bikes and then falling for the monster M109R muscle cruiser. Bling for converting to a cruiser mate. Looking forward to seeing you and the new bike around sometime.

Very true! I am only 35 and love having a cruiser with a bit of mongrel attitude to it. And it has a different look, whereas most sportsbikes are much of a muchness.

Being currently at the stage where sportbikes are hurting me and I'm looking for an alternative for road riding, I'd be interested to hear whether you checked out a range of different non-sportbike options (motards, 'standards' like the XJs and the CBs, tourers, semi-tards like the Brutale and the Superduke, etc) after deciding to move on, or was it for you very much about a direct attraction to the cruiser style?

Thanks to the Motorcycle press you'd be forgiven for thinking that there are only three types of bike available:

1. Sprotsbike
2. Cruiser
3. Dirt Bike and related brethren

There's vastly more choice out there, but it all comes down to ego, bling, or peer pressure in the end.

Tried heaps of bikes out - can't remember all the types. Um, blackbird, VTX, several daytonas and triumphs, some semi tourers - can't remember them all - my memory is fading. Mainly to see what shape fit best for comfort etc. Some of the more upright 'semi tourer' bikes felt guttless after my GSXR1000K6 so I really needed something with torque and wanted a bike that was a bit different to mainstream bikes but comfortable to ride. Also found some of the screens annoying as they deflected wind vibration into my helmet because of my height.

I rooted my back and neck in a car crash years back (old lady driver turned in front of me when I was coming along a clear dry straight road at 100km/h) ... and found the sportsbikes too hard on my injuries after an hour or so riding. I find the reach and seat position aggressive on the M109R and it certainly fits the "muscle cruiser" title and has some wicked roll on power that leaves you gripping on if you open it right out.

Rode a GSXR600 during a service and felt that was like humping a coffee table after the 109. The 600 was gutless, way too small, revvy and slow by comparison.
