When we shipped our bikes over to Queensland in July 2004 we ended up riding to Cape Trib (Or is it Cape Treeeeeb ?) Some great roads up there, especially after getting off the vehicle ferry - it was just an idyllic ride.

Some have the myopic view that only NZ has great motorcycling roads. Not so. Plus there is something about cruising into a town you have never heard of before and checking it out a bit. The small towns (and their pubs) have a lot of character. The downside is that there seems to be a hell of a lot of Aussies there.

After PI this year we drove the campervan to Sydney the back way - via Omeo and I then vowed to come back on a bike!!!!!!!!!!

Am getting costs/feasability now. Might take the LC4 if Denise doesn't want to come - and do some dirt roads as well.

    What a life!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone interested in riding in Oz may be interested in the 'Australian Motorcycle Atlas', produced by Hema Maps. A book of maps plus a page devoted to a description of each of the 50 best rides with those rides hilighted on the relevant page. A must if you are planning travel in Oz - off the main hiways.
