Meh, poppycock. Did a bazillion miles on old Meridan Triumphs, always waved. Woz vibration got to do with it? In fact , on a real vibratory bike (Triumphs weren't actually that bad), y'r hands can't stay on the bars anyway, so you may as wel use them for waving.

None , now, modern bikes don't vibrate worth the word. Early Japs, some times you couldn't (as it physically could not) keep your feet on the footrests.

True that. I do the surfing type (kawabunga?) hello's to kids at traffic lights eh. They love it.

As a new wave I might start high-fiving the air instead of a nod. And I'll say "High Five!" in Borat's voice as I do it too. Awesome.

Hey - If we all hate waving threads so much how come we all answer them?

I get waved at from just about everybody - Harley riders and Ducati Rriders included.

Course I wave to everyone on 2 wheels. 'cept Duckaddict - I just shout hello at him while negotiating a downhill 90 degree left-hander. If I'd tried to wave I'd have ended up on his lap.

It's because many of them (not all) are car drivers, except for a couple of hours on Sundays.
