    Odd question

Now I enjoy a steak as much as anyone, and have no problems wearing leather, but I was wondering if there was any way a vegan could race motorbikes in new zealand. Are there any non-leather racing outfits that someone would be allowed to race in, or does the inferiority of man-made products mean that hippies are being excluded from competitive racing?

What a bloody interesting question. If I have a medical dispensation because of migraines, can I race without a helmet?

Depends of what racing you are talking about:

    Motocross: Yes, leathers not compulsory

    Speedway: Yes, leathers not compulsory

    Trials: Yes, leathers not compulsory

    Enduro: Yes, leathers not compulsory

    Freestyle: Yes, leathers not compulsory

That leaves Road Racing. Something I have never done. But surely with todays technology there is materials that are approved to race in that are lighter then leathers??

May the bridges I burn light the way.

it is actually illegal for a hippie or vegan to own a motorcycle, soon it will be illegal for them to leave the house.
in ten years time people will be tested at birth for the hippie/vegan gene, positive test results will induce public hanging.

Is it something I should be looking into?

May the road rise up to meet you.

fucking pack of dumb shits....why is it that a vegan can't wear motorcycle leathers?? just because they don't eat meat or animal products doesn't mean they can't wear leathers?? they ain't eating their leathers!!! lol

BTW...there is a vegan on KB that race's motorbikes in leathers...including leather boots!!
and another one that rides on the road all the time...thinks he's okay at wheelies...and his father in law truck company cart's cattle and sheep to the works all the time...how canb he live with himself?? I wonder!!

Wouldn't the hippie tan a snapper skin or seek out an organic emu to make his/her race suit out of? But then again, I smell a rat?!

There are degrees of veganism, but most who consider themselves as vegans would avoid using leather.

......I can see those that don't enjoy eating the flesh of animals would have a problem draping the skin over themselves.

Just goes to show, Ya can't get rid of faulty genes, You would think this sort of fluffy thinking would have been wiped out right back at the start, when mankind had no choice but to kill animals for food and shelter.

Now the spoilt fucks are trying to stop others from wearing a fur coat.....

Talk about limiting yourself, what do these guys actually eat?
    Nuts and grains?
Fark the bike suits made of whatever, give them a decent feed and let them race in their levis.
