Yes I "speed". On a open road with little or no traffic, the straight stretching out in front of me, "Roxanne" will happily purr along @ 70-80MPH (and she is still just cruising at that). If you want me to go to sleep on her then get me to ride at a constant 60MPH (just under 100KPM) on that same straight. This is why I am always happy to get Ruakaka/Waipu Straights behind me. Too many cops and cameras on too straighter road, and they wonder why there is a high dead toll on that stretch. People are nodding off

Ah yes but they're nodding off at a lower, safer speed d

'course when I DO see a cop I DON'T flash, makes it more exciting for the other motorists, keeps them on their toes and alert.
Can you think of a way to apply that sort of deterrent to rapists and burglars???

Nodding off and going into an oncoming truck & trailer going 80KPM is not "safe" even if you're in reverse .

    When do you stop 'flashing'?
I flash others for cameras and cops too, but how far up the road do you go before its too far? 2km? 10km? untill you get home?
I appreciate getting flashed, but a little miffed if there is nothing there...
    So, what do you do?

Do like I do, keep on flashing as you ride/drive (until you see a cop/speed camera then STOP flashing)

    Haha

Scumdog, you truly live up to your name

Yeah, it's a interesting point, when DO you stop flashing. I reckon I stop after 1km, maybe 2 at a long push.

SD, is it illegal in anyway to warn people? Obstruction to state funds? (taking the piss btw)

Always flashed ever since radar came onto the roads. Got pulled up by the MOT a few years back. Dipstick reckened I was 'obstructing the course of justice.' Smart ass sod that I was/am?? told him that as he was unable to determine if an offence had been commited how could I have obstructed the course of justice??. Gave me a right going over for about twenty minutes.

Nope, not illegal (else I would have been busted about a quadzillion times eh?).

All cops know that flashing takes place and it's one of the "hazards" of trying to catch people speeding.

BTW, It's amazing how many people stopped for speeding nave no WOF, rego, are disqualified, have Warrant to Arrest etc etc.
